“These Guys are Good” is the promotional theme of the PGA TOUR. After the enormously successful hosting of the Canadian Open in July, Angus Glen Golf Club and Conference Centre in Markham, just north of Toronto, can certainly play off that theme as well. Much like Jim Furyk’s final round hole-inone that spurred a come-from-behind victory over Vijay Singh, Angus Glen was nearly perfect in its execution of hosting the nation’s largest golf “outing”, something you should consider when planning your next outing for 4 or 400.
Angus Glen Golf Club and Conference Centre in Markham received applause from all corners for going the extra mile in hosting a lot more than just 156 of the most professional (and most picky) golfers. Beginning with the $2-million Davis Love III re-design of the North Course that not only toughened it for the Tour pros, but made it that much more challenging for the everyday golfer who has come out to enjoy it since its reopening in May, the attentive management and staff has continued to upgrade all portions of the facility.

They’re not making getaways like this anymore, anywhere. The Briars Resort began welcoming guests to the south shore of Lake Simcoe during the late 1800’s. The hospitality shown back then in the Manor House now includes lakeside and golfview cottages, an inn, indoor and outdoor pools, land and waterfront activities and a state-of the-art spa.
A scenic patio, dining, evening entertainment and the Red Barn Theatre round out the resort experience. Only an hour from Toronto, The Briars Resort & Spa on Lake Simcoe is an easy getaway, or a great destination if you’re coming from afar.
