Santee Loves Canadian Golfers, Canadian Golfers Love Santee

Print E-mail
The recent strength in the Canadian dollar will make traveling to the U.S. for golf this fall and winter a little less painful in the pocketbook for all Canadians. For years, many Canadians have lived through the 50 percent exchange rate and made the most of their visits to the U.S. by staying and playing golf in Santee, South Carolina.

"Play More Golf For Less Money" is the motto of the local hoteliers and golf course operators in Santee.

Santee gives golfers the value they are looking for in a package. With 17 golf courses and more than a dozen accommodation properties to choose from, golfers can build a stay and play package from as little as $39 U.S. per person per day, based on double occupancy.

The quaint little community offers three golf courses all less than five minutes from any hotel in town that you may choose. The three courses in town – Santee Cooper Country Club, Lake Marion Golf Course and Santee National Golf Club – have each been awarded 3-1/2 stars from "Places to Play" by Golf Digest. The remaining courses that you can package with are from 15 to 45 minutes away.

Santee, often considered South Carolina's inland golf capitol, is located right on I-95 on the south shore of beautiful Lake Marion. For many years, the golfers that visited Santee have realized they received better value on good courses that are less crowded.

From the moment you step on the first tee, you will play your way through majestic pines, along well-manicured fairways and greens still facing some intimidating tee shots and carries over water. However, one thing is for sure – your visit to Santee will be light on your wallet and heavy on good golf.

For more information on this great golf destination that offers moderate day-time temperatures that make golf a year-round sport, please call 1-800-250-3080 or e-mail your name and address to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will send you a Santee Golf Guide.
